The Sybaritic String Band First Saturday Series

In addition to the dances we play for other folks, The Sybs have their own dance series. Every 1st Saturday from Sept. to June, we host a dance in collaboration with the Rogue Folk Club, at the St James Community Square in Vancouver, BC, at the corner of Trutch and 10th Ave, in Kitsilano. Dances start at 8:00 PM sharp, with a 20 minute break around 9:30 and end at 11:00. The caller will often conduct a brief session for newcomers starting at 7:45 to introduce them to some of the more common moves used throughout the night. Admission is $12 CDN with discounts for various underwaged and underprivileged folks. First time "newbie Sybarites" with a special coupon are welcomed with free admission. Dancers can pick up these coupons for their friends by asking for them at the door. For half-priced admission, bring a plate of home-baked goodies to share. Musicians are also welcome to sit-in at the 1st Saturday dances. Dance, play some music, chat with your friends. Just come and enjoy yourself!! For a memorable evening with The Sybs, come to one of our performances listed below.
